About the project: Located in San Luis Obispo, this project transformed the area outside a master bedroom into a private retreat. A subtle fence provides both an implied and physical barrier, creating intimacy while preserving the openness of the expansive backyard. After weeks of design iterations, the project earned first place in the CLCA State Awards in 2023. The use of white pigment-polished concrete, inset tile, and a vertical form board finish elevated this small space into something truly special and unique.
