From Concept to Concrete: A Hillside Transformation in San Luis Obispo

Just below High School Hill in San Luis Obispo, we recently transformed a steep, underutilized backyard into a layered, functional outdoor space. The design focused on maximizing usable area within a tight, uniquely shaped lot rooted in xeriscaping principles for a low-maintenance, climate conscious result.

With help from our sister company, Purlieu Concrete, we built a custom staircase and retaining wall that doubles as a water feature, strategically placed to be enjoyed from the living room. The project also includes a hillside spa, a lounge space with a view, and easy access to the client's herb garden and orchard.
